The bright-leaf Virginia tobacco plants grow better in sandy, poorer soil than most other tobacco varieties. The Virginia plant is a slightly milder smoking tobacco than the Huge-leaf tobacco plant. This plant can grow 80" in heights, has 20" wide and 26" long leaves. Easier to dry, these Virginia plants change the color of the leaves faster. Smoke this tobacco straight or use it for blending your cigarette tobacco. The nicotine content seem to be slightly higher than that from the Huge-Leaf. If you have a problem with grasshoppers in your area, then the Virginia may not be your best choice. I guess, they enjoy a good chew :) This plant is acclimatized to a cooler northern climate (zone 2) and it can survive a short, mild frost in your garden of about 26.6 degrees Fahrenheit. It grows better in warmer regions. Germination instructions with four pictures of the different plant development stages are included.
